Leo volunteers had a flurry of activity this morning when we got a sighting email that turned out to be another dog. We had the opportunity to see that we were able to get a volunteer on the scene within minutes, but a little of that was luck. Some days it's not so easy to get a volunteer on the scene when a sighting call comes in. With that in mind, we would love to hear from more people that are in a position to resond to a sighting call in short order. We would provide questions to ask the sighter, and you would want to keep on hand: some kibble to put down a feeding station, and some fliers to put up in the area of the sighting.
Email me if you are interested, as we believe it's more a question of when there's another sighting -- not if.

I work at the Richmond Hwy PetSmart store. I'll post his flier there on the bulletin board in the lobby. We have a lot of residents from Alexandria who will see it. We often get people who come to us with lost pets or see the pet running in & around Mt. Vernon, George WA Parkway area & notify our staff to help. There are 2 dog parks in this end of town, so I'll get a flier up there as well. Hope that helps bring him home.
ReplyDeleteFantastic, Tracey! This is exactly what's needed. We are trying to push the word out everywhere since we no longer know where Leo is. Pet supply stores and dog parks are prime places to put up fliers. One of these days, some that is going to see Leo is going to learn who to contact when they do.
ReplyDeleteLast night I helped with a TV called Telepathic TV on Arlington Independent Media, channel 69. Mary Palen and R Neville Johnston, the hosts of the show, were kind enough to display the Leo flier during the program. Hope this helps. The show last night was live, and will be repeated for a month. It usually airs at 8:30 pm on Fridays on channel 69 (Comcast)in Arlington, but it is also on at other odd times :)So Leo is now TV personality ;)
ReplyDeleteExactly the way we need people thinking! Any and all ways of spreading the word are needed and appreciated. The difference that folks can make by thinking outside the box like that is tremendous!
